ICDL Africa is a subsidiary of ICDL Foundation, the not-for-profit certifying authority of ICDL. Established to guide the implementation of the ICDL standards in the African context, ICDL Africa manages the accreditation of a growing network of ICDL Accredited Test Centres (ATCs), and provides a focal point for the formation of partnerships with organisations who share our national economic development and capacity building goals.
ICDL program was adopted in Zimbabwe in 1999; banks, corporate organizations as well as private schools took up the program
ICDL activities in Zimbabwe are run by the Computer Society of Zimbabwe as the National Operator.
Certification
- Your certificate will be issued to you by the Computer Society of Zimbabwe.
- Upon registration as an ICDL student, you will be issued a Virtual Registration Number which allows you to sit for an exam.
Entry requirements for this course
- Candidates must be at least 13 years old.
- You must be able to communicate in English

Examinations
Exams are held on Fridays at the Bulawayo Campus and on Saturdays at the Chitepo Campus. They are administered online.
On completion of the test, the software automatically marks your input, and your results are available immediately. Information on fees for the exams can be obtained from the Speciss College Examinations Officer or from the ICDL website.
Lesson Times
Lessons are offered at different times on different campuses, with some lessons being held during the day, and others in the evening or at weekends. Often the same course can be studied at a variety of different times, so you can choose the one which is more convenient to you. You will get your personal timetable when you register at Speciss College.
