Speciss introduces City & Guilds telecommunications course
Speciss College has added another City & Guilds course to its expanding portfolio of qualifications from the respected examining board.
The Computer and Secretarial Studies (CASS) department at the Chitepo Campus recently began classes for the City & Guilds Telecommunication Systems Certificate.
Mrs Nyasha Muchapireyi, the Director of Studies for the Chitepo CASS department, says that this qualification is best suited for people who are seeking a career as a technician in the telecommunications industry.
“City & Guilds recognises that telecommunications, computing and information technology have merging skills, so the Telecommunication Systems Certificate equips technicians for a wide range of jobs in the field of electronic communications,” she says.
Mrs Muchapireyi says that this course is also suitable for people who are already working in the telecommunications industry but want to gain an internationally recognised qualification.
To register for the course, students must have five “O” Levels or relevant working experience in the computer field.
Students who complete the Certificate level and pass their exams can progress to the Diploma and thereafter the Advanced Diploma level.
Mrs Muchapireyi says that all lecturers who will be taking the course are seasoned professionals currently working in industry.
City & Guilds qualifications are respected worldwide by employers for their emphasis on imparting skills and knowledge that are relevant to the working environment.
