Who will issue your certificate?
Once you’ve completed your study with Speciss College and passed the exams, you’ll be awarded the IBAS Intermediate Diploma in Business and Accounting Studies. Then you can progress to study the IBAS Diploma in Business and Accounting Studies.
IBAS is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators in Zimbabwe (ICSAZ).
Standards are set and maintained by ICSAZ, which does this with other bodies including the Zimbabwe Institute of Management.
As is well known, ICSAZ has the highest standards of professional excellence and maintains consistent examination standards.
A qualification with IBAS leads to career opportunities in the private and public sectors. It gives you a firm grounding in the basics of business and accounting.
When you enrol for an IBAS course, you can be confident in the knowledge that you are laying a solid foundation for the rest of your career.
Entry requirements for this course
To join the IBAS family and move into the business world, you must have the IBAS Certificate in Business and Accounting Studies or a Certificate in Accounting issued by a recognised institution at the discretion of IBAS.

What exams will you write?
Exams are held in May and November each year. You’ll register for the exams with IBAS. Information on the exam fees, which are payable at least 6 weeks before the exam, can be obtained from the IBAS website.

When and where are the classes and what are the fees?
Lessons are offered at different times on different campuses, with some lessons being held during the day, and others in the evening or at weekends.
Often the same course can be studied at a variety of different times, so you can choose the one which is more convenient to you.
You’ll get your personal timetable when you register at Speciss College.
What about books and stationery?
You’ll need to bring your own notebooks and writing materials to your classes. For your convenience, we have a range of stationery items at the Speciss bookshops. The list of prescribed and recommended books is available on the IBAS website. We strongly urge you to buy a copy of the prescribed texts.
